Thank you for the lovely postcard with the cute rabbit illustration.

かわいらしいウサギのイラストのポストカードをありがとうございます。

In Japan, we have the zodiac, just like in several other East Asian countries.

日本には干支があります（ほかの東アジア諸国にも）

＼ What is the Chinese zodiac? ／

「干支は、12種類の動物が順番に、それぞれ違う年を表すことです。
毎年、違う動物の番が来て、12年で一回りします。」

The Chinese Zodiac consists of 12 different animals that each represent a year in a cycle. 
Every year, it’s a different animal’s turn, and it takes 12 years to complete the cycle.

I was born in the Year of the Rabbit, so my zodiac animal is Rabbit.

わたしが生まれた年は「うさぎ年」でした。なので、私の干支は「うさぎ」です。

That’s why I was especially happy to receive a postcard with a rabbit on it.

だから、うさぎのポストカードが嬉しかったです。

I ended up giving quite a long explanation. (Haha)

長い説明になりました（笑）

Thank you also for decorating the postcard with so many stickers.

それからシールをたくさん貼ってくれてありがとう。

All of the stickers are so cute.

I did some research on the Calgary Stampede.

「カルガリー・スタンピード」について調べてみました。

It is such a huge, huge event! It is traditional, glamorous, and truly amazing!

とても大きな大きなイベントで、伝統的だし、ゴージャスだし凄い！

Everything looks so interesting and fun.

どれもこれも気になるし、楽しそうです。

Among all the exciting attractions, the ones that caught my attention the most were the Chuckwagon Races and the Sky Ride.

なかでも気になったのが「チャックワゴン レース」と「スカイライド」です。

What caught my attention the most was the chuckwagon itself in the Chuckwagon Races.

「チャックワゴンレース」の「チャックワゴン」そのものが気になりました。

I found the many different designs of chuckwagons so cute and charming.

いろんなデザインのチャックワゴンがあってかわいいなぁって

And then there is the Sky Ride.

それから「スカイライド」

It looks like fun, but also a little scary. (Haha)

楽しそうなのと怖そうなのと（笑）

If I ever get the chance, I would definitely love to try it!

I keep a reading journal where I record the books I read.

読書ノートつけています。

I used to keep a reading journal.

いや、厳密にいうと、つけていました。

I love reading, but recently I haven’t been reading very much. I don’t keep a reading journal anymore.

読書は好きだけど、最近はほんの少し。ノートはまったくつけていません。

But after reading your message, I felt like I wanted to start writing one again.

だけど、あなたのお便りを読んで、書きたいなと思いました。

I would like to find a good balance and make time for both.

バランスよくやっていきたいです。
