On a personal note, today (July 15, 2026), I visited my daughter’s junior high school.
わたくしごとですが、今日（2026年7月15日）は、娘の中学校に出かけました。

It’s after school, so there are hardly any students around.
放課後なので、生徒はほとんどいません。
I dropped it into a postbox on my way home.

What makes Shirakawa-go so special is that, although it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, people still live there.
白川郷の魅力は、世界遺産でありながら、そこに人々の生活があることです。
