Before Sending
You asked me to send something that represents a special food from my country, so I chose a postcard of unaju (grilled eel over rice).

I couldn’t fit this on the postcard, but in Japan, people traditionally eat unaju on the Day of the Ox during midsummer. In 2026, it falls on July 26.
Lake Hamana, where I live, is famous as one of Japan’s best-known eel-producing areas.

I’ve also enclosed some extra stamps. I put lots of stamps on the envelope too, so please feel free to share them with your friends.
This is the postbox where I mailed your letter. It’s in front of a small supermarket in the countryside.

After that, I did some grocery shopping and headed home.
I hope this letter reaches you safely.
